Payment options

The easiest and most cost-effective method is a recurring monthly contribution setup through your bank’s autopay system. Here is the information you’ll need to set that up:

Ameena Project
Acct #: Donors can just use their name, or an inspirational message
12190 SW Butner Rd, Portland OR 97225

Donations can also be made by check and sent to the above address, made payable to Ameena Project.

Contributions can also be made through PayPal, however, as 3 percent of every PayPal donation is lost to processing fees, we ask that you please consider your bank bill pay system, or check by mail, to transact your donation.

Volunteer

We believe this work to be so important that U.S. based operations can and should be 100% volunteer run. Please contact us to find out ways you can help our outreach grow.

Mail an Encouraging Letter

Our Kenyan staff would love to hear from you. Mail them a note, have your kids write a letter or draw a picture for the students and teachers. Send only letter-sized envelopes (they will have to pay to collect anything else), and do not send gifts or money.

Students are happy, healthy, and safe. Ameena Centre has successfully sent graduates of our program on to public school since December 2012.

Parents can look for work without being consumed with worry over the well-being of their children.

Community members take pride in the betterment of their younger generation, and utilize the facilities for events outside of school hours.

How You Can Help

Make a one-time contribution, or better yet, sign up for a recurring donation.

Ameena Project currently employs five Kenyan teachers, a cook, a reliever, two security guards, three teaching assistants, and a small group of casual laborers from the community. The entire program costs approximately $2,800 per month to operate at full capacity. That includes all employee’s wages and benefits, two meals per day for 85 children, all school supplies, all cooking supplies, administrative expenses, and incidentals.

So little can do so much.

Since we work exclusively in Kenya with low-cost goods and services, even a small donation can create real changes for the community and the children we serve.

  • $15 provides 65 meals (23 cents per meal) – think of that: the cost of a pizza feeds 32 children two nourishing meals a day!
  • $33 sponsors a child for a month
  • $80 covers cooking fuel needed to prepare 3,400 meals in a month
  • $180 buys one year’s worth of meals for one child
  • $396 sponsors a child for a year
  • $560 covers one month’s expenses for one classroom
  • $6,720 sponsors a classroom for one year
