A week (or more) in review

It’s been a while since an update &  I know some of you were going to start leaving comments that this blog was on it’s way to blahg.

Baby Ameena is now 2 weeks and 2 days new.  She  is a sweet baby who generally only fusses when she is hungry (quite often) and for a good 3 hours from about 9-12pm every night (colick?  But with a 3rd kid, we’re pretty easy-going about it!).   Otherwise she smiles  and is very alert–checking out all of the madness around her.

Plenty of madness to go around here at the Centre!   In the few days after we brought Ameena home, the volunteer team from Oregon finished up with some large construction projects, we continued to register increasing numbers of kids at the Centre for our new term, Ian and Salvation Army staff work hard to plan the long awaited Grand Opening of Karibu Centre, our friends Joyce and baby A were in a matatu accident (but are thankfully ok) and we opened the Abadoned Infant Care portion of the Centre–now complete with 3 baby boys who were all abandoned at the local district hospital.  It’s been a busy  week.

With all of that said, here are a few pics:

A couple of days old

We're paci lovers in this house

Good thing some of you sent me those tiny newborn clothes! They fit this little peanut just right!

All Ameena wants is a little food....which Lucy is oblivious to

Everyone's gotta help

Baby's 1st movie night. A dad special!

Ok, so she can't see the t.v. for movie night, but I think she's having a nice time hanging out with dad

I’ve been thinking about you all, wondering how it was going. Love the pictures, she is a beautiful baby.

We’re paci enthusiasts in our house, too.

Ooooh, I love the dark hair :-) Now you’ve got Jorie and Laura coming. Wish I could be there to help.

Special and soo sweet pictures. She is such a beautiful child. Your comments remind me of another time when someone was called peanut…with her friend ponytail. Do look forward to them.

Okay, how come someone hasn’t pointed out the obvious yet? Why does it have to be me? :0) Is Eli wearing PINK and green pajamas in the second-to-last photo? I love how anything goes in Africa. NICE!

And, I love seeing little peanut in that tiny newborn outfit. I remember when it was too big for Grace. Amazing.

I can’t wait until you’re back so we can do a proper visit! Grace is currently outgrowing her 9 month clothes. . .at 13 months, ugh. Let me know if you want me to save any for Ameena. I know you’ve got Lucy’s stuff, but wasn’t sure about the seasons/size stuff.

Angie…you are so right! Eli is wearing pink piggie pajamas, size 3, yes he is 5. After baby arrived he started wanting to wear them (they were Lucy’s) and we’ve let him. His feet have now worn holes through the footies. Awesome.

Lucy has gotten a great amount of use out of the newborn outfits you sent…thank you so much.

I didn’t keep Lucy’s younger clothes, so I will take you up on Grace’s clothes for certain! We’ll plan a visit up to the Seattle area and arrange huh? That would be fun!
